In this year of significant change for the American Wine Society, how about a change of pace for the National Tasting Project?

Think of the common challenges you often hear when drinking Chianti or Cabernet Sauvignon: This wine needs to breathe... It needs more time...This wine is really right... It needs some air... Honey, where is the decanter?

This year's National Tasting Project is more of a search and discovery mission and it is all subjective! A beauty contest. A popularity contest. We do away with the rating sheet for this year. All you have to do is taste six wines, decide whether you like Chianti or Cabernet, old world versus new world and based on you preference, which one of the Chiantis or Cabernets is just right!
