What
is the American Wine Society? | The
AWS is a national nonprofit consumer organization devoted to educating people
on all aspects of wine. Its members are wine novices, experts, grape growers,
amateur and professional winemakers, chefs, wine appreciators, wine educators,
restaurateurs and anyone else who wants to learn more about the appreciation of
wine and gastronomy. The AWS is for you if you're interested in . . . Wine Education, Fellowship, Gastronomy, Wine Judging, Travel to Wine-Growing Regions, Wine tasting in moderation, Grape Growing, Winemaking. | |

I come as a guest at first? |

What does it cost? (effective for 2007) | There are national and local dues. You cannot attend chapter functions without being a member of both the local chapter AND the national organization. Also note that there is an additional charge per meeting to offset the expenses of the wine and accompanying food. It averages around $20.00 per person. We cannot take credit cards for any dues or meeting costs. There are annual dues payable to both the National and Local AWS organizations.

and where are the meetings? |
Once a month, on the second Thursday, (except for the summer months of July and August,) the Pittsburgh Chapter of AWS meets at 7:00pm at the North Hills Knights of Columbus, 1248 Evergreen Ave. in Millvale. | |
